Engine will not idle when cold, but when warm up it runs fine. Some kind of sensor bad?

Possibly a sensor, yes. Is the check engine light on? Does the engine start normally, or do you have to do something other than just turning the key to get it running?
I would test the engine temperature sensor first, since the idle is OK when the engine warms up.
