2002 Ford F-150 crank, no start

Dear Ray,
I have a 2002 Ford F150 that I purchased new. I don’t drive it much, to the home improvement store and such, it has only 20,000 miles on it. It has a 4.2 v6, and a 5speed. It has been giving me a crank no start issue. I have replaced the plugs, wires, battery and fuel filter to no avail. The fuel pump whines when the key is on. Any thoughts on what the problem is and how to repair it. Thank you for your time.

Ray’s not here…

But, I’d suggest the crankshaft position sensor (CPS) is failing. Check for spark and see if the injectors are firing. No injector pulses is a huge clue that the CPS is the problem. They cost $10 from Rockauto. May be a camshaft position sensor, too, but ti think the truck will start with bad camshaft sensor, but I am not sure about that.

Thank you sir, I will check that out and I very much appreciate your advice.
