2002 Chevrolet Prizm spinning noise

Startup car, put into gear, automatic foot on brake, makes a spinning turning sound, no sound in park or neutral, goes away after driving a while. Also does it a little if I have it in gear and foot on brake and give it a little gas sounds like something is rotateing. Not sure if it is tranny or pulleys hopefully.I also viewed a video on internet of an 07 corolla doing exactly the same thing. He did not comment on if he figured it out.

You need a qualified mechanic to listen to this, and diagnose it.

I’d guess you are hearing the transmission’s oil pump.

No worries, that’s just the hamsters getting the exercise wheel spun up so the car moves.

If I were the OP, I would drive–today–to a well-reputed independent* transmission shop for evaluation/diagnosis.

“Independent” means NOT a chain-run joint like Lee Myles, Cottman, Mr. Transmission, or AAMCO.

That would be nice to post a sound clip of your noise. My 99 Corolla also made some weird noise and I was able to fix most of them.
