2002 Chevrolet Impala - Starting Issue/Battery Charged

Hello, I have a 2002 Impala (V6) and I drove the car to work on the other day and parked in the parking lot. Few minutes later, I attempted to start the car and it won’t start. No power, no lights, not even dashboard light. It seems the battery is completely dead though I put a new battery last year. I called AAA, the guy attempted to give a jumper by just connecting to battery terminals. Car did not start. He checked the battery and it had the full power. He also said the alternator works fine as well. Then he put the jumper cable to auxiliary positive post right beside the fuse box then the car started. What is the problem here? All fuses in the fuse box are in working order. Nothing burnt out.
