2002 Buick Rendezvous Brakes,noise

Hi, I have a 2002 Rendezvous. I keep on hearing a loud noise coming from the front of the car when I am driving and it gets louder when I drive faster. My mechanic says its because of a brake rotor that’s hung up on something in the car.
Does anyone have any other ideas?

The noise you hear might be the brake pad wear indicator rubbing on the rotor. These are metal tabs that come in contact with the rotors when the brake pads get worn down to a certain point. The only way to find out is to have a brake inspection performed.

A noise that gets louder when you go faster on a Rendezvous makes me think more along the lines of a bad wheel bearing. These are a common wear item on these vehicles. Would you describe the noise as being somewhat like driving on rumble strips? If so, I would say you have a wheel bearing going bad. If it’s a shrill metallic squeal, that would be a brake pad wear indicator.

Is it a groaning or a screaching noise?
It could even be a wheel bearing.
It might even be a bad tire.
Best to have it checked out as soon as possible.

The noise sounds almost driving on rumble strips, but the sound vibrates the front of the car when it gets bad.
I just put new brakes on it three months ago, but they are starting squeak.

Its also more like noise

Then that sounds like a bad bearing. You need to have the vehicle looked at as soon as possible as it could be dangerous.

PHi all, I just had someone look at the car and it looks like the front bearings are almost shot. Its unsafe to drive.
Thanks for replying.
