Loud Noise in Rendezvous That Goes Away When Idling or Turning

There is a loud, constant noise coming from my 2004 Rendezvous (90k miles) when I drive that gets louder and higher pitched the faster I am going (and gets softer and lower pitched when breaking). It does not make noise when stopped and the noise lessens or disappears when I go around sharp turns on the Highway. It sounds like it is coming from the front, passenger’s side of the car. I don’t think it is the engine because it goes away when I turn. Could there be something wrong with my axle or wheels? Or is does it seem like something more serious?

I would rotate the tires and see if it goes away. If it doesn’t than have the wheel bearings checked.

Maybe the right front brake is involved. Could be a stuck caliper. Is the right front brake area hotter than the left after a long drive and/or a hard stop? (Be careful to not burn your fingers.)

It could be as simple as a slightly bent brake backing plate, or a stone jammed in there, or loose brake hardware or mounting bolt.
