I have a 2001 Olds Aurora with V-6 engine. Every time I fill up with gas (I don’t fill after the auto cut off) there is a strong odor of gas when the car is parked in my garage. I can not find any leaks. After driving a day or so, there is no more odor. Any ideas?
Gas cap not sealing? (easy fix)
Vapor recovery system problem (harder find and fix)
Can the gas cap be faulty? I always spin it on until it “clicks”.
As for the vapor recovery system, I’ll seek professional help.
