from inside the car, using the door lock switch, all the doors lock or unlock. from outside the car, turning the key either right or left, only the driver side door unlocks. the manual states all doors should lock and unlock using this method. also, when you first start the engine and put in drive, should all the doors auto lock?

If so, it may need re-programming. Your second question pertains to the same thing.
There is a switch inside the driver’s door that should activate the other locks when you use the key. The switch contacts are most likely dirty and need to be cleaned.
For the auto lock with the shifter, this may depend on the way the control module is programmed.
