My ford sports trac will not idle when starting in the morning?

Clarify what you mean by “won’t idle”. Does it crank but not start. Or does it crank, starts, but then quickly stalls out? Or what?

The problem might be with a dirty/defective Idle Air Control valve.

The IAC valve controls the engines’ idle speed under all conditions.
