2000 Pontiac Bonneville stalls while driving

I’ve had this car for seven years with no issues. Just recently the RPM needle stops working and the car gives a slight nudge but continues to function. When there is rain or even misty weather, the car will stall while driving - MPH does not seem to be a factor. No mechanic can understand or recreate the problem. I saw a post on a similar issue with a 92 Bonnie with a solution to change the Crankshaft Position Sensor. Could this be a possible solution for my car?

It might be - but why not find out? What kinds of mechanics are you seeing anyway?

Get a spray bottle with some water in it. Pop the hood and start misting the ignition system and both the crank and camshaft sensors. If this doesn’t sound like something you want to figure out ask one of those mechanics if they have tried this. Ask one of them to and tell them not to skip the crank sensor.
