I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4. The driver’s-side passenger door won’t unlock, since about 9 months ago (this is August 2, 2008). I’m told it’s the door actuator. This would be about $85. How can I get the door open so this can be replaced?
Will a key open it? OR is there no key hole?
Contact a locksmith. They should know how to get to the locking mechanism since you don’t have a key lock on the rear door.
I have to wonder if the child lock mechanism has been set on the inside of the door. I assume you can’t open the door from the outside either and if so then there may be a problem with the mechanism to the handles.
