2000 Honda Accord EX V6 128200 mi transmission slipping from 1st to 2nd. Engine still good and new tires. SHould I replace tranny or chuck the car.
This is one of those decisions no one can make for you . First get some estimates on a rebuilt transmission ( You do not want a used one from a 18 year old salvage car ) . Then decide if the expense is worth it for you.

Tough one. Those were good cars. The trans in my '03 Accord V6 went and there was a later class action settlement. You may want to look into that. The Accord was on of the many vehicles Honda had transmission problems with. Here is a good place to do some research:
I replaced the transmission in my 97 Accord with a used one two years ago.
The transmission cost $300.00. But my labor was free.
