1998 Toyota 4 runner

I have removed the starter from the motor, but I can’t get it out of the engine compartment. There is not enough space either top or bottom. What do I have to do to get it out so I can rebuild it? It is a V6 SR5 with auto trans.

My Information Says That On The 2VZ-FE Engine The Entire Intake Manifold Must Come Off.

Apparently the starter sits in the “V” of the engine. Have you ever done brain surgery? I haven’t seen one, but is it possible to rebuild it in place like building a “ship in a bottle”?
