i always enjoy your show and think i heard someone else ask this same question 4 yrs ago, yet i dont recall your advice.
our accord has 187,000 miles on it and is a standard-five speed. it has had the loud rumbling noise since about 60,000 miles, yet the noise has worsened since 100,000 miles. once you press the clutch in it goes away.

Could be several things. My money is on the throw out bearing. In any case it likely will require opening up the clutch so you might as well replace any worn parts at the same time.
