1994 dodge caracan break probs

The abs light is on, should have gone to manual breaks, but instead, pedal only moves 1/2 inch, and have to stand on breaks to get the car to stop. Can’t drive, and all the shops/books don’t have configuration they have ever seen. Possible this is a half year production, but still doesn’t explain why break pedal won’t move…any help or suggestions would help.

If it’s idling FAST and/or roughly, I think you still have brakes, but not POWER brakes. I suspect that you have a vacuum leak severe enough that the brake’s vacuum booster is not helping to push the rod into the master cylinder. You should be able to hear the vacuum leak under the hood. If you can’t locate it by just listening, try using a two foot length of heater hose as a stethoscope.
