1993 Pontiac Sunbird LE

My friend has this car, and she pulled it in her yard and it wouldn’t start back up later. It would just click. We tried jumping the battery. Still clicking. We replaced the battery (yes, it was bad). It went from clicking to -rurrrrrrrrruuuurrr…but it won’t run. We replaced the spark plugs and wires (they looked bad). Still rurrrrr. The spark plugs are sparking, and they’re getting drowned in fuel because it won’t start up. Going theories are: ignition timing, timing belt, or ECM fuse. Any sound likely? Other ideas?

The problem might be with a leaky fuel pressure regulator.

On the fuel rail you will find a small metal canister with a single vacuum hose attached. Remove this vacuum hose from the regulator, and if gas leaks out of this vacuum connection, the fuel presure regulator has failed.
