My Honda was running great untill it just stated dying while I drive. Engine light comes on after 10 minutes and will die when I stop. It will statrt again ( not easily) and it will kick after engine rpm tries to go over 3200 RPM. I have changed, Plugs, Plug wires. Distributor cap, Fuel filters. Any Ideas? Please help
Could be the distributor. The Haynes, or Chilton’s, have checks for this. You could save a heap of money by using one of these repair manuals. Also, check out this website: www.tegger.com/hondafaq/startproblems.html
Start the car and wait till the check engine light comes on. Then peel back the passenger side footwell carpet. You’ll see a little round window with a flashing light in it. Count the number times it flashes in a row. Count several times because if there’s more than one code it’ll flash each one in sequence. Then check this chart to see what your computer is telling you:
0 Ecu Faulty or shorted, Check engine light does not appear when starting Passenger side foot well

7 Throttle Angle (TPS) Loose or dirty connection, Short or open in circuit, Bad sensor - More Throttle Body
8 Top Dead Center (TDC) Loose or dirty connection, Short or open in circuit, Bad sensor - More Distributor
9 No. 1 Cylinder Position (only on 1.6L) Loose or dirty connection, Short or open in circuit, Bad sensor - More Distributor
10 Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Loose or dirty connection, Short or open in circuit, Bad sensor - More Intake Manifold
11 Does not appear to exist
12 Exhaust Gas Recirculation System (EGR) Loose or dirty connection, Short or open in circuit, Cracked or loose vacuum line, Bad sensor - More Firewall right hand side
13 Atmosphric Pressure (PA) Loose or dirty connection, Short or open in circuit, Bad sensor - More Inside car passenger side wall
14 Electronic Air Control (EACV or IAC) Loose or dirty connection, Short or open in circuit, Dirty, Bad sensor - More Throttle Body
15 Ignition Output Signal Loose or dirty connection, Short or open in circuit - More Distributor
16 Fuel Injector Loose or dirty connection, Short or open in circuit, Bad injector, Resistor Box - More Fuel rail, Right side close to firewall
17 Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) Loose or dirty connection, Short or open in circuit, Bad sensor - More Left front tire, Transmission
18 Does not appear to exist
19 Lock Up Control Solenoid (auto trans only) - Loose or dirty connection, Short or open in circuit, Bad sensor - More Loose or dirty connection, Short or open in circuit, Defective soleniod valve

my honda accord 91 is reving up when it is standing idle and it is overheating when driving, could this be the EACV valve ?
