1990 Buick Electra Park Avenue Ultra / 3.8 / SFI / OHV 6 cyl. ( body type 4 s)
Have old type of key ( no chip ).
The trunk is self closing the last few inches, and has a remote switch to open trunk in the glove box.
The button in in glove box works ok to open the trunk on the first push. Key into the trunk works just fine.
Over night we will come out to find the trunk open, or it will open after some time just by itself (engine Off).
I Unplugged the connector in the trunk, to the actuator motor, for now to keep it closed.
From the Haynes repair manual (Pg. 12-27) the electrical system shows power to the luggage compartment lid release relay , coil outlet to the remote accessory control module and the relay outlet switch goes to the luggage compartment lid release actuator, then to ground.
? where is the relay located? And how do I find it if I didn’t just follow the wire color codes?
? where is the remote accessory control module , and can I test it some how?
? can the relay go bad and close the switch, or does it just stop closing all together?
Thank for reading hope that I gave you enough info to help us.
