I have a V50 with 77k miles. I recently went on a road trip and in high humidity areas the passenger side rear foot well would accumulate ton of water from condensation through the rear foot vent. Does anyone know how the remedy the situation? Thanks
I think the drain tube is plugged, and the condensation from the AC is flowing through the rear floor vent instead of out onto the ground.
The drain tube is on the firewall, low on the passenger side. You probably have to raise the car to reach it.
DO NOT crawl under a car unless it is properly supported.
After you rectify the situation, you will have to remove the padding from under the carpet in order to dry it completely.
Operating the AC on “recirculate” should decrease the amount of condensation.
