My '02 Camry Solara (SLE V6) has been exhibiting increasing hesitation over the past year. It’s gotten to the point where it’s dangerous. Sometimes I’ll gun it, and it will just bog down. Sometimes, if I take my foot off and hit it again it will take off. Not surprisingly, the Toyota dealership grunted, shrugged, and said there was nothing wrong. As it’s fuel injection, some of the old remedies (stuck float bowl, plugged accelerator pump, etc.) are out.
Anyone had any experience/solutions?
Have a capable mechanic check the throttle position sensor (tps), and the idle air control valve (iac). It’s fairly simple to do with a voltmeter or a scan tool.
Tanks!
