It has been a dry winter where I live this year and I was wondering if you can get the worn down studs replaced even though the tires themselves are fine? I think I will check them out on my tires. I was just curious if anyone knew.
No, one shot is all you get. Studs don’t care if it’s wet or dry, they wear the same either way…
I did have mine replaced once at a tire shop in Anchorage, but I wouldn’t be surprised if shops don’t do it now.
Studs do wear but are still functional the life of the tire. Don’t expect them to do their magic with worn tread, but until then, they are always better than not. Even when the appear flat with tire, you get substantial grip.
