I just purchased a 2007 VW Rabbit. The driver’s side mirror whistles loudly at speeds over 45mph. I took it to the dealership and was told “something always whistles on a VW”. I then received a letter from VW telling me that if I was still unhappy I could take it up with the Better Business Bureau (BBB)Auto Line.
Do you think contacting the BBB will actually resolve this problem and force VW to fix the mirror? Just curious.
Are you certain that it is the driver’s side mirror that is making the whistling noise and not a poorly sealed windshield?
If it is the mirror, it should be replaced on your warranty. I think I would outline the problem and possibly have an attorney suggest a course of action.
