They’re referred to as “Tom and Ray” and as “Click and Clack, the tappet brothers”. Makes sense to me…

Tom has the beard. As to who is Click and Clack, I made it up (using texases’ logic).
On the last show, they had a letter that asked the same question. And since “click” means “to run smoothly” and “clack” means “to prattle”, it is now obvious to whom these names should apply.
