Wheel offset

I’m wanting to replace my wheels on a 1997 f150 truck. The ones I’m looking at have a -6 offset. Will this adversely affect the handling or drive characteristics of my truck?

You should find replacement wheels with the same offset as the OEM or handling and tire wear may be compromised.

When you change wheel offset, you are changing the vehicles track and steering geometry. You are also loading the wheel-bearings differently. -6 sounds pretty radical. Are you sure about that? If the wheels mounting surface is also on the rims center-line, the offset is 0. How wide are these rims you are looking at?

the wheels are 17x8"
