What has Torque to Yield Bolts really done for us?

We can sit here all day and speculate about his joking intention when he made fun of the Geanada, the bottom line is he looks back on it fondly. If it was so bad he wouldn’t be fond of it.

Your ability to ignore direct, unambiguous quotes to feed your fantasy about the late, unmissed Granada is amazing.

I have to agree with one of your previous posts, in which you stated that he is trolling at this point.

The FACT is, even if the Granada was a lousy terrible car, which I do not believe it was, President Obama has fond memories of his. That is a FACT.

Why was it a bad car? Why? You could get them sporty, luxurious, or thrifty. I honestly don’ understand why people think they were so bad.

The Lincoln Versailles was a really nice car btw

If I’m correct Versailles used the same platform (Fox?) as the Granda.

Like Mike Landon said in the pilot for “Highway To Heaven”, if you treat it nice it will treat you right.

I’ve driven first-gen Granadas, took a trip in one. A very average car for its time, nothing special. A gussied up car based on a 1960 Falcon was never going to be great. Very average.

The second gen Fox-based Granada was better, but by then the Accord and Camry were getting better and better.

For some reason, U.S. carmakers chose the proven, established route in new model introduction, and only reacting to world changes, vs Asian and to some extent European carmakers, who were more anticipatory and proactive in their new product cycles.

The Granada evolved from the Falcon chassis, but it is a much different car.

The Mustang and Falcon shared the same platform, but a Mustang is not a falcon.

Most cars, and other types of vehicles, end up there eventually.

People have fond memories of things and places not because of how great those things and places were, but what may have happened there. My first car was nothing to brag about but I have fond memories of it because of what happened inside of it at the drive in theater

Ya know what, you KEEP name dropping him, I would be willing to bet if another President we won’t name drop here said he owned one and loved it, the Granada would not even be mentioned…

Now I would be impressed if someone like Jay Leno said he liked the Granada as he is a real car guy and has a very impressive collection

My problem is that Obama never said he thought the Granada was a good car, just that he had fond memories of his first car, just like I imagine 90% of people do, no matter how ‘good’ of a car it was.

Do you mean to tell me that he doesn’t have a Granada in his collection, along with a Bugatti, a McLaren, a Lamborghini, and–his favorite–a Mercedes 600 Kompressor?

Since the Granada was “just like a Mercedes”, surely he should own at least one Granada.

This was the Lincoln Versailles I tried to buy many years ago. Unfortunately the owner wasn’t really in any hurry to sell. I wonder what happened to it, it was a beautiful car.

I’m glad you agree that Ford Granada belongs in the junkyard

Please give us some context, in regards to the Lincoln Versailles in the picture

Why does it seem to be on display, on flat tires, behind glass?

Can you get in touch with the owner and ask what happened to the car?

That versailles was in the showroom of the old Bill Dobson Ford in Shoals Indiana. He opened

up a new dealership nearby and It sat with the roof leaking in there and I guess they would rather let everything rot vs make a tidy profit off a car. Thats the problem with America, too many people have too much money.

Im going to call that dealer and ask.
