Hi, I have an opportunity to purchase a 2003 VW Beetle convertible but hear bad things about transmissions going out at a little over 100,000 miles. Just curious, can anyone inform me of your experience with this model, make…and any other significant problems you’ve encountered? Any 15 year old vehicle can have failures so just like any other used vehicle purchase have a mechanic inspect for about 100 to 150 dollars then decide if you want it. Who knows, maybe the problems have been taken care of by now.
