V-6 3.8 with Supercharger

Having now owned 3 Pont. Bonn. SSEi with the V-6, 3.8 L. Supercharged engine, I love this engine. I now own a 03 which is the last one!

Does any car manufacturer still use this engine. My 03 won’t last forever. Thanks.

The 2005 Monte Carlo SS was the last W-Body car to have the supercharged 3.8L engine. The 5.3L replaced it in the newer W-Body’s. It’s substantially more powerful.

Buick uses the 3.8L, but it is not supercharged anymore. See it here:

This engine in non-supercharged form was used in the Lumina APV (and it variants). I feel it was part of the best mini-van power train for many years. A lot of people have good feelings about the 3.8, best V-6 GM ever made.

Certainly better than the 3.8L Ford made.

This is the last year for the 3.8L. Next year the LaCrosse uses a 3L V6. I know that I got good service out of my 1998 Regal over the last 10 years.
