Truck wont crank

I hope you are right, but in your original post you stated that when you turned the key…there was a click. That should have been an indication that the switch was working properly.
The click should have indicated a poor connection somewhere, or a depleted battery.

I’d avoid any long trips with this truck until you are absolutely sure the problem has been fixed.

If it ever happens again, here’s a way to save a little time & expense maybe. When I have a no-crank problem like that, the first thing I do it measure the voltage at both starter terminals during attempted cranking. Both should measure 10.5 volts or more. If the voltage isn’t there, well, you can’t expect the starter motor to crank without the proper voltage supply. No power input, no power output. So job one is then to find out why there’s no voltage at the starter motor (as mentioned above by db4690). In your case you would have traced the no-voltage problem back to the ignition switch.
