i pulled my camper to beach this weekend, my truck kept running hot… i have changed thermostat…temp runs up close to 260…there is no water mixing with oil …thats eliminated …could it be radiator needs replaced
Could be. What year is the truck and has the coolant been kept up? Is the rad clear of debris? How are the rad hoses? It could be an eroded water pump too.
Are you basing your engine temperature on the dashboard gauge reading? If so you’re making a mistake.
If the coolant were actually 260 degrees fahrenheit you’d have had huge boil-over event, and probably major engine damage.
Stop counting on that unreliable dashboard gauge. Have the ACTUAL temperature of the coolant verified before you spend a lot of money for nothing.
Maybe you just need a new coolant temperature sensor.
