I have a 2000 Honda Accord, 4 cylinder, automatic transmission. Transmission slips in reverse when backing up a slight incline. Will changing the transmission fluid help with this problem? The car has 115000 miles on it. Other suggestions? Thanks, Bob
Changing transmission fluid and filter is always a good place to start. Be sure to use genuine Honda fluid. And do not allow the shop to do a “flush,” as this is not recommended by Honda.
Best bet is to use a dealership since they know how to treat Honda transmissions and won’t do something stupid like using the wrong type of fluid as can happen at Jiffy-Lube type places. And they won’t try to talk you into an expensive (and not recommended) “flush.”
+1 for @jesmed1 and have you actually checked your transmission fluid level?
