I have a 2006 Jeep Commander that will not go into reverse. The gear shift easily moves into reverse, but it takes a little time before the car will actually move in reverse. If I put the car in Neutral and then into Reverse it will immediately reverse.
Please supply the really important missing details, such as:
The vehicle’s odometer mileage
Whether the transmission is automatic or manual
If it is automatic, the maintenance history of the transmission
If it is automatic, whether you have checked the level of the transmission fluid
The length of the vehicle’s Powertrain Warranty, and whether it is still under warranty
If you have checked the transmission fluid, what can you tell us about the color and smell of the fluid?
