02 Explorer…seems the transmission to starting to slip, not catching 1st gear. Any thing preventive I can do? Trans was replaced 14 months ago.
If it’s an automatic transmission run a pressure test on the transmission pump.
If you have a manual transmission, you need a new clutch pressure plate.
How many miles? Did it start all at once? Is this the same type of problem that caused you to replace it 14 months ago? Was it an independent, dealer or chain shop that replaced it?
It seems to be similar but less subtle. An independent dealer.
