I have a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT. Have heard the transmission fluid for this vehicle MUST be the type recommended. Need to know, what type of transmission fluid does this vehicle require? Thanks in advance.
Your Owner’s Manual contains this information.
Look in the section of the manual that details things like the type of spark plugs, the motor oil specification, and the trans fluid specification.
The Owner’s Handbook will only show the Chrysler brands. Auto parts stores can tell you of other (cheaper) brands.
At autozone.com, under Vehicle Repair Guides, under Specifications, there are three brands listed. Each shows type ATF + 4 transmission fluid.
You can look at the autozone.com site after you register your vehicle there.
Use ONLY ATF+4… Nothing else…

When did Chryco start doing this???..Unless they use a fluid designed for Chryco and only chryco…then they’ll list what the fluid is. Honda is one… Chryco usually uses Dexron and new models use the ATF-4.
