I have a 00 Monte Carlo SS with a 3.8L and 4T65E trans. with 191k miles on the clock. I just put a remanufactured motor and trans in it and all is good with the swap. I can’t find anywhere how to adjust the transmission range cable at the throttle body plate. Does this require a scan tool?
What exactly are you trying to adjust??? There is a range switch on top of the transmission case which has a cable going to it. (Shift cable). Is this what you are talking about??

The cable next to the throttle cable. It’s like on a TH350 where you floor the accelerator and set the detent on the kick-down cable. This cable is just like that (kick-down)…Maybe I’m not describing it correctly.
The 2 cables you should see there are the throttle cable and the cruise control cable. Neither one have anything to do with the trans.

Thank you Transman…I thought for sure that was tranny related. I did feel a little shuddering upon acceleration right before it shifts from second to third. The fluid level is good and is new. Is that some sort of thing that will go away after break-in?
It should, I would let it break in for a few hundred miles and see what it does. If it doesnt get any better or gets worse, I would contact the builder. Electronic transmission such as this one do not have kickdown or TV cables. Kickdown and line pressure is controlled by computer through the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor).

Thanks again…
