Tranny leak at kickdown cable

I have a mildly built TH350 that seems to leak from the detent cable fitting, when it sits overnight. And it seems to almost completely drain the fluid, so much that the car will barely move. I am about to replace the cable with a Lokar braided cable. Does it seem pssible that it could be losing that much fluid from this location when the car isn’t even running?

The cable has no fluid.

The fluid leak will be comming through the seal in the housing for the shaft of the lever the cable operates.

My memory is fading here but I do recall leaks associated with the kickdown system but I cannot remember any kind of a details on how these leaks were resolved. The details on some failures stick with you and others need a “kick” to get them out of the place within memory where they are stored.
