Why does the traction active engage on dry pavement on my 2002 Impala? It occurs when a starting out, the traction and the light come on, as if I were on ice. I let off the gas and it goes away. This began a couple of years ago, and now it happens often. No one can figure it out, and GM swears they have never heard ot it, and they have no answers.
What do your tires look like? The traction conrol system is pretty sensitive and will be activated even when the tires would ordinarilly only squeak a little. With borderline tires and a heavyish foot, it’s entirely possible to cause a small amount of tire slip accellerating from a dead stop.
