A/C on my 2000 Toyota Corolla w/78K miles stopped. Dealer tells me there is a pinpoint hole in the condenser unit necessitating replacement of $ 820 part and $500 labor. Any way to repair hole w/o replacement? Is price reasonable?
If there’s truely any hole in the condenser, it can’t be fixed. The pressures the condenser see’s when the AC is on will breach any kind of repair. It has to be replaced.
But ya know? You don’t have to have the service performed at the dealer. Call some indepenedent service establishments. Most are certified in AC repair, and might be able to replace the condenser at a lower cost.
