Okay, what’s MY ticking sound? Sounds like it did those one or two occasions in my errant youth when I let the oil get too low (luckily always caught it in time, thanks to this noise, to save the engine), but the oil level is fine. Any ideas?

Lifters shot by now, maybe? Buy the Yaris and check the oil on every fill-up.
