1998 Ford Taurus. 175K miles, 6 cyl, 3.0 liter. CEL is on and codes read : “P0411 Secondary air injection system incorrect flow” Any ideas what the fix could be ? Thanks
Your car is equipped with a emission electric air pump that pumps air into the exhaust for the first minute or so on start up. I suspect one of the pump cylinder bank shut off valves (secondary air pump valve) is not working so only one exhaust cylinder bank is getting air from the pump. The two valves are not the same part so diagnostics needs to be performed to determine whether its the front or back cylinder bank secondary air pump valve.
