Does anyone have a full proof way of removing caked on tar from the inner rims of tires on a brand new SUV? Short of taking the tires off, I am at a loss. On a recent road trip to the Grand Tetons, we had to travel over several miles of roads under construction that made a mess of my car. Even after 2 rounds of using tar removal, my tire rims are still a mess (I did manage to finally get the tar off the car itself). It’s a brand new SUV, so don’t want to leave it there to fester for the next 10 years.
CITROL it is a degreaser made by schaeffer oil company. The stuff melts the tar right off.Good luck

Believe or not, my father in law used kerosene to that. It worked pretty good for him.
