I recently ran over hot paving tar (without realizing it) and now have a large strip of the tar stuck to my left front tire. It is the width of the tire and about 2 to 3 inches long. How can I get it off? It seems firmly stuck and my car vibrates when I drive it now because the balance is off. Any ideas? Thanks much.
I’ve seen this happen many times. When I get a tire like this I would remove the tire and wheel from the car and put it in my parts washer. It would loosen the tar enough to remove it.
You could also use brake cleaner or carb cleaner to try to remove it. First try to scrape as much of the tar off as you can then use the spray to remove whats left.
