Which means it does not have start/stop. It operates as needed.
Nope never test drove a special order car or a new one off the lot. I have inspected them first though but not driving. Thatās what dealer prep is for and warranties if anything is not correct. The only problem I ever had though was a factory paint touch up that was not good and the dealer took care of it before I took delivery.
Not sure I see the difference. Auto start/stop also doesnāt operate when the engine is cold.
Start/stop on a conventional gas vehicle stops the engine when stopped for a red light, then starts the engine when brake is released and gas pedal pressed, for example. Prius gas motor should be off prior to stopping unless charging the battery and not started unless additional power is required. Therefore I just donāt consider it an auto start/stop function as applied to gas powered vehicles.
Thatās my take on it. Sort of an exercise in semantics.
