I have a fuel filter on a 96 Sable with the inlet side fitting rusted and stuck to the elbow fitting. I tried with reasonable force to remove it and it won’t budge. I soaked it with PB Blaster. At this point I assume I will ruin the fitting if I force the filter off. My thinking is to replace the elbow fitting with a new one.
I went to NAPA and they did not have a replacement fitting. They recomended I see a dealer for the part.
Any other ideas or suggestions?
Why not price it at the dealer?
This was also commom with late 90’s GM products, the one threaded end of the filter siezed up. If you wanted a filter change you bought a new steel line. GM didn’t use a elbow just a straight in fitting.
