Add Sta-bil to the gas tank–preferably a full tank.
Buy a Battery Maintainer and connect it to the battery in order to keep it from dying.
Agree, 6 months is not very long. I’d also plug all openings with steel wool and wipe the salt off wires and hoses to discourage raccoons from feasting on them.
Before storage, I would also change the oil and filter.
