Stick clutch disengaged

Sir, my car i20 1.2 petrol manual transmission, has a sticky clutch while engaged or disengaged whether clutch pedal is depressed or not.
I could still drive the car, but it was difficult to shift gears especially “from only on 1” to 2,3,4,5 or R or N. This happens when the car sits for over 10 hours. And much more I can feel it while driving also on some occasions.
Really need your help on this.

You need a new clutch

Yes, It happened after only when new clutch assembly was installed.
And no issues with the slave cylinder, master cylinder or low gear oil. Everything thing OK except the sticky gear engaged or disengaged.

Return to the place that did the work .

I took it to them at the authorized serving center, and I was told clutch system was installed correctly and they suspect with the master and slave cylinder and the clutch fork.

Decades ago iwas a foreign car mechanic while I waited to be drafted. I drove a 1954 Austin healey 100-4. The clutch was worn out. I took the the pieces to a shop where we bought clutch parts. They also rebuilt clutches; mostly trucks and heavy equipment. When they heard it was my car, they insisted on relining my clutch plate whle I waited. They only charged for materials. When finished, I stated that it looked very thick. They said no problem.

Upon installation, it was hard to disengage. Could have been wear in the mechanical linkage, but it all looked good. I modified the adjustment piece, and all was good.

The rebuilding shop was very dusty, and asbestoes was used in most clutch lining. We blew brake dust around with compressed air. I had one friend who died of it, but many more had to be effected.

What exactly is sticking? Is it the shift lever when you try to go in and out of gear, or is it the clutch pedal when you push it in and out?

Shift lever from 1 to 2,3,4,5 or R. Especially when car was parked over 12 hours and engaged from 1 to 2,3,4,5 or R was extremely hard even with clutch pedal pushing to the floor.

And you just got a new clutch installed? Take it back and tell them to do the job right.

They suspect either master or slave cylinder going bad which really is fine with the old clutch assembly. They can’t give reason why these cylinder was doing find with old clutch.
