My radio just started getting bad static when I turn the defroster on. In searching it seems to be a known problem, the solution being to replace the back window. Apparently the defogger traces and the antenna share the same turf and when some of the tracks loose their integrity, the static starts. Other than replacing the window are there any other solutions? I may have to consider moving to a warm dry climate where I do not have to use the rear defogger 
It seems like a good auto sound store could move your radio antenna lead to something like a roof antenna ( maybe one of those Shark looking things.
