My brakes squeak in the morning. Is this normal?
If the noise goes away after using the brakes a few times, then–yes–this is normal.
Your brake rotors can develop a thin coating of rust after sitting overnight–particularly if it is damp or if you were driving in the rain prior to parking the car. A few brake applications will wipe the thin film of rust from the rotors, and–voila–no more squeaking.
