I have a Freightliner Sprinter that was running fine until yesterday. I began to drive down my driveway (it’s a long drive way) and the van would only go very slow and was bucking rpms would only go 1000 to 1200 with the peddle floored. The engine revs fine in Neutral. It there anything I do to fix it or get running long enough to get it a mechanic???
Have you tried letting it warm up before you drive it?
Depending on how ambitious you are, you might try changing the fuel filter yourself-- that could be all the issue is. I’ve never worked on a Benz diesel from this side of 1982, but on those it’s an easy change, anyways.
Been there, done that. My 03 w/ 2.7L did that at 36k miles. I was able to drive it the 5 blocks back home , smoking and sputtering all the way at a whopping 4 mph( after I talked to the dealer of course) They towed it to the shop and the ecu was bad. Mine was under warranty at the time.
