There was nothing I read that said it was an emergency .

Maybe the police are always wrong but this is rural northern Minnesota not metro Chicago. I didn’t see any driveways, crossroads, or even another vehicle on the road until after the crash. Even if he was crawling along at 60 mph, you aren’t going to avoid hitting Bambi when they jump in front of the car like that.
Well, that information would have been useful in your first inflammatory comment.

The police are usually hard working, decent people. Some police officers aren’t. I know one that is immature and shouldn’t have the badge. Maybe the one going 114 is like the substandard one I am familiar with.
The kids didn’t have the right of way, but the cop is doing 94 in a 35 zone. It’s not the same situation as the thread subject. I just think there’s limits to how fast they should be going without becoming reckless. It’s hard to control a vehicle at 114 mph.
The cop doing 114 didn’t seem to have any problem controlling his vehicle. They usually take training for that.
911=emergency. A cat stuck in a tree or a missing bicycle isn’t a 911 call.
That’s a judgment call. 114mph through a school zone in the rain? No. 114mph on a deserted rural highway in clear weather? Yes.
As for the particular incident in the video linked above, my greatest concern is for the damage to the police cruiser, as that can be a costly fix.
Read the article along with the video. Report of a gun in a restaurant.
insufficient information as to whether or not it was an emergency.
As far as 911, not mentioned in article, too many people do misuse 911.
Our sherif encourages citizens to arm themselves, but I choose not to carry, but am authorized.
Comment on eating raccoon. Though it has been a long time, years ago when I was still a kid, a brother and I were walking across my dad’s farm when we saw a raccoon successfully committing suicide by being in a tall tree in the middle of a large field. My brother told me to sit at the base of the tree while he went home for his .22 rifle.
We could definitely use the food ,with a large family. But, we checked and raccoons have glands inside their rib cage. If you don’t take those glands out, they taste terrible. If you take them out, there is enough meat for several people for several meals, and we sure could use it.
You can’t walk into a restaurant or bar in NH without someone carrying.
You must patronize different establishments than I do.
T-Bones, Weathervane, 99, Cactus Jacks just to name a few.
You never know when that gun fight will break out at the local Cactus Jacks, don’t want to be unprepared.
