I decided to clean a small area on the front of my engine on the intake manifold that was covered in what i figured was oil sludge and small clumps of it fell further down, later on when i turned the engine on there was a little smoke coming from that area, from what looked like the oxygen sensor but i could not find the exact source. Would i be right to assume this was just oil sludge burning off on a hot surface of the engine somewhere?
